Vehicle Description

The Renault Master Low Loader

By Trucksmith  Choosing the right van for your business can be difficult, especially when needing to balance carrying bulky loads with navigating narrow areas in often tricky loading areas. The Renault Master Low Loader is a spacious and versatile box van that combines excellent carrying capacity with easy manoeuvrability and a tight turning circle. It is classified as an off-the-shelf conversion which means instead of needing after-market conversion, it comes straight from the Renault factory floor.

If quick and easy loading and unloading are essential, the Renault Master is ideal because with a Low Loader, there’s no need to be limited by tail-lift capacity, maintenance, or inspections. Increased loading volume, improved fuel efficiency, and the lower loading height are just a few of the benefits however, there’s more to the Renault Master Low Loader than just its large carrying capacity and low loading height. This is a practical, versatile, and spacious box van that gets the job done reliably. At Bob’s Luton Vans, we have 14 Renault Masters in stock so you can get driving immediately. Carrying Capacity and Dimensions

When it comes down to business basics, carrying capacity is usually the most important feature when choosing a van. The Renault Master Low Loader has a loading height of a mere 50cm (500mm) making it one of the easiest vans to load and unload from quickly and increasing overall load capacity and there is no need for a tail lift. Load volume is a spacious 19 cubic metres and carrying payload is from 950kg to a maximum 1238kg depending on the engine type.

The 15mm flat box floor made from birch has been designed to have minimal impact from the wheel arches and load width is 1380mm. Load length is 4100mm, load height 2260mm and load width is 1980mm. The loading area is accessed through the 270-degree rear barn doors which open to sit flush with the side panels and give complete, unimpeded access to the loading bay which makes loading bulky items a breeze. Ease of access to the loading bay is further helped by the low profile fixed rear step and loads are secured using the extensive lashing eyelets, loops, and tracks.

Although the carrying payload may not be the largest in its class, in fact it’s not even the largest in the Renault Master Range (that would be one of the panel vans), the load volume capacity truly outclasses the bulk of options making it ideal for deliveries, courier and removals work.

Additional storage over the cabin is also easily accessed. The Renault Master Low Loader’s impressive load carrying capacity comes from being based on the Master LL wheelbase (extra-long). If you need to fit in tight loading areas, the overall external vehicle dimensions are 6600mm in length, 2500mm in width including side mirrors and 2800mm in height. Braked towing capacity is 2500kg while carrying the maximum payload and unbraked towing capacity is 750kg – perfect for those times when you need even more carrying ability.

Engine and Transmission Specifications

There are three twin-turbocharged 2.3 litre diesel engines to choose from for the Renault Master Low Loader, with manual standard and an automatic transmission option available. Each of the dCi engines benefits from selective catalytic reduction (SCR) to reduce overall emissions and improve fuel efficiency by up to 2%, while also offering reduced servicing intervals – helping you keep your business on the road with fewer interruptions and lower costs for servicing.

The combination of SCR with the twin-turbocharged diesel engine creates a smooth, powerful, and responsive engine capable of bearing heavy loads with improved emissions. All Master Renault Low Loaders are front wheel drives because everything about this vehicle is designed to improve load carrying capabilities.

The dCi 135, with 135hp at 3500rpm and 360Nm of torque, is the fully serviceable base engine option. This is a useful upgrade from the dCi 130 base option offered on the long wheelbase (LL) standard Renault Master series, particularly when the larger load carrying expectations of the Renault Master Low Loader are considered. The ENERGY dCi 150 engine has 150hp at 3500rpm, and 385Nm of torque which is more than capable of carrying heavier loads with ease.

If you would prefer an automatic transmission, the Renault Master ENERGY dCi150 Quickshift 6-speed is the only option available, and it is functional, responsive, and reliable. All three engine options for the Renault Master Low Loader are more than capable of meeting the demands typically expected of box vans.

Driving and Interior of Renault Master Low Loader

The only thing more bounced around by the wind than a fully loaded box van is a fully unloaded box van. The Renault Master effectively uses electronic stability control to reduce the common problem of being buffeted by the wind when driving without a full load to increase traction. Hill-start assist helps offset the challenges of a manual transmission in hilly areas and the reversing camera helps the Renault Master Low Loader to squeeze into tight loading areas without causing any damage.

The seats are comfortable with driver and steering wheel height matching those of the Renault Master and interior storage options are plentiful. The dashboard contains a very easy to read electronic display and the centre console is equipped with a DAB radio with Bluetooth connectivity, USB charging options and an optional navigation. Everything about the interior of the Renault Master Low Loader is geared toward practicality and forgoes the bells and whistles to focus on delivering the essentials reliably.
